What is a Sound Bath?
During our sound bath, you sit or lay comfortably while I play a set of 7 deeply resonant crystal sound bowls.
One of my favorite things about sound baths is that they require very little of the participant. All you have to be is in the space and willing to be a part of it. There are no physical requirements or belief systems needed. Sound itself is the medicine, and it can be a gloriously calming, healing, or simply enlivening experience.

Ultimately, each sound bath is a unique experience for each individual, and the experience will change from one session to the next for the same person!
Why
Crystal
Singing
Bowls?
I work with crystal singing bowls, which give off a deep hum.

They are much different from Tibetan bowls, which give off more of a ring.

As a practitioner, I play, or "sing" the bowls either into harmony in triads or fifths, for example, or into dissonance. Each has its own purpose during a sound bath, and the harmonies and dissonances flow throughout the session.
The Science of Sound
We all probably have our own favorite songs...because of how they make us feel! Music has the power to literally change how we feel. In a sound bath, the notes are simply isolated, then presented as rich vibrations that can soothe, calm your mood, or refresh your mind.

Amazingly, scientists and engineers have developed the tools to detect how sound affects us on a cellular level.

What if
I feel resistance?
There can be a range of reactions to sound baths: one might feel immensely calm and in tune with deeper feelings or self-love.

In contrast, a quiet meditative state can also intensify our thoughts and analysis of the situation in a uncomfortable way. If we feel added pressure to "feel" a certain way, our resistance to the experience can become even louder!
This entire range of reactions, and everything in between, is completely normal and welcome! There is no expectation that a participant "feel" or "react" a certain way.

A way to soothe our thoughts and move towards being present is to "become the observer" of your own thoughts instead of interacting with them.

For example, you can imagine your thoughts as clouds passing in the sky. The clouds, and our thoughts, might change shape, get big and puffy, burst into a thunderstorm, or simply dissolve. In a sound bath, it can be helpful to watch the clouds (our thoughts) and let them evolve -- without holding on to them or looking too closely to them.

You can also imagine yourself floating down a lazy river in a simple, safe boat. You might imagine your thoughts as the grasses on the river bank, or the stone bridge you pass under, or the fish darting by, or the log floating along. All of those things will pass, and as the observer, you can notice them, then focus back on the river...again, and again....

It is the practice of noticing without engaging that can reduce the noise of our thoughts.

The ability to be present and not caught up in our thoughts can be extremely easy for some, and take others years to accomplish! I was one of the latter, and I know how difficult it is.

Meet Your Sound Practitioner

Crystal sound bowls, or "singing bowls" were introduced to me in 2018. I attended a sound bath totally unwittingly (I thought it was only a yoga session!) and ended up captivated by the sound bowls and their effects.

I became a sound practitioner through the Academy of Sound Healing, and I specialize in sound baths for single participants or groups.

I went in simply wanting to understand what a sound bath was all about. Almost immediately, the sounds felt deeply soothing—layered, intentional, and grounding. Lizzy’s presence is incredibly smooth and calming, and I found myself dropping into a meditative state much faster than I expected.
What surprised me most? I rarely cry… and yet, without any clear reason, tears started flowing. It felt like something was gently unlocking. It made me realize how powerful sound really is—there’s something happening beneath the surface with these vibrations. I left genuinely curious and excited to experience it again.

Extraordinary experience! Never felt so relaxed and centered. Like a massage without being touched!
